This is a double-presentation of 2 classic radio productions of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities. A tale of resurrection, sacrifice, and social injustice, set in London and Paris during the French Revolution. We follow the story of the French Doctor Manette, his 18-year-long imprisonment in the Bastille in Paris, and his release to live in London with his daughter Lucie whom he had never met. The story is set against the conditions that led up to the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror. Our first remastered production stars Laurence Olivier followed by Orson Welles' production. Despite remastering, these are productions of their time and audio quality can vary.
